Project Overview

Brand Film for a Fashion brand

Client: Independent Women’s Fashion Brand
Industry: Fashion
Deliverables:
– Brand film (16:9) for social media distribution

The Brief

The client approached Angle Up Studio to create a short brand film that could be used across social platforms to support the ongoing growth of her fashion label.

The goal was to present the collection in a way that felt considered, confident, and aligned with the brand’s identity, while remaining authentic and vintage. The film needed to work natively within social feeds, helping to build awareness and engagement without feeling overly promotional.

The Challenge

The primary challenge was budget and logistics.

As a self-funded, growing brand, the project was working within a modest budget. While this placed limits on elements such as location scouting and pre-shoot visits, it did not restrict the creative intent.

As mentioned, travel and logistics was something we had to consider. Given the budget constraints, it was not possible to visit the filming location ahead of the shoot day. While not ideal, this was mitigated through detailed pre-production planning and clear communication with the client.

Behind the scenes — documenting the on-set process, direction, and attention to detail.

The Approach

Strong pre-production was central to the success of this project.

Ahead of the shoot, we held an initial call to define:

  • The shot list and visual priorities
  • Storyboard structure and pacing
  • Styling considerations, equipment and more.

Despite the limitations, the client was able to supply well-prepared resources, including wardrobe, set dressing, and a styled model, allowing the location to be transformed into a retro time bubble and cohesive environment.

On set, the focus was on:

  • Clean framing that complemented the garments
  • Natural movement and performance

This approach ensured the production ran smoothly, efficiently and purposefully, which allowed the filming to feel intentional and flow without compromising the visual standard.

The Outcome

The final deliverable was a 16:9 brand film optimised for social media distribution.

The video was shared across the brand’s social channels, where it achieved strong early engagement. At the time of review, the film had amassed close to 10,000 views on Instagram, supporting the client’s aim of increasing visibility and reinforcing brand identity, with a strong visual foundation for their launch, presenting the product in a way that felt confident, considered, and aligned with their brand positioning.

What This Project Demonstrates

  • The value of detailed pre-production planning
  • The ability to adapt to budget and logistical constraints
  • A considered, collaborative approach with independent brands
